Out with the winter and in with the spring. Looking to awaken your home from the dull of winter? The bold and invigorating colors of Susan Shannon's pottery brighten any room. Pottery that is both practical and artful.
Susan C. Shannon makes Su Chi Pottery. By following the path of her creative energy, her chi, she makes pottery that soothes the soul and pleases the senses. Her journey began over 25 years ago and has been going strong ever since. In 2009, Su opened a studio in Pittsford, VT as a full time production potter. She makes over 1,900 pieces each year for the kitchen, the table and the home.
Su turns a blend of stoneware and porcelain into pottery on the potter's wheel. After decorating, it is heated to about 2,232 degrees Fahrenheit in an electric kiln. Su Chi ware can easily be used every day with no worries. She brings distinctive dinnerware lines to the world which reflect her inner nature. But that's not all. Su Chi ware is also for the kitchen. Batter bowl sets, maple syrup pitchers and honey pots and more. For the home, Su reserves the vase as an outlet for all her other creative ideas.
Su attends fine art shows around the state of Vermont. Be sure to stop by the Middlebury Farmers Market from May through December, the Brandon Artist Guild, or the Vermont Hand Crafters annual show in South Burlington in November.
